Rooftop Solar Panels

Sustainable energy for a better, brighter future

We met this Cambridgeshire farmer whose onion stores electricity consumption was more than he was happy with. We had a detailed look at the way he used his power and designed an 81kW East / West Solar PV array to give him a constant supply of clean energy throughout the day maximising early morning and afternoon sun without the unneeded high peak of production in the middle of the day. The site required export monitoring specified by the DNO.

Specification:

  • Modules – 300 x 270w Poly Silver Frame Modules
  • Inverter – 2 x 40kW Solis Inverters
  • Export Limitation – Solis EPM
  • Mounting – Renusol mounting hardware
  • Monitoring – GSM Web portal

Outcome

The farm is benefiting from utilising the energy that the PV system produces whilst also getting paid for exporting excess energy during times of low site electricity demand. Our client explained that he had seen the opportunity to use the roof of his store as an asset and had modelled its performance and cost saving in the same way he views his crop.

  • Output – 71,520 kWh per year
  • 18.3 tonnes CO2 saved per year
  • Equivalent of 2304 trees planted
  • Return on investment 5-6 years

Such a nice company to work with. Good workmanship, easy going and no problems at all.
